ClearImage barcode recognition is designed to achieve the highest recognition rate at the highest recognition speed. Having advanced information about barcodes user can improve recognition speed even further.
- Use zones. If you know the approximate location of the barcode on the page, set the Image property to zone object rather than image object. Set the zone rectangle dimensions to be large enough to accomodate a misregistered image.
- Limit barcode types. If you know what types of barcodes to expect specify them in the Type property and set the AutoDetect1D property to ciFalse.
- Limit barcode orientations. If you know the orientations of the symbols, set them in Directions property. The search for diagonal barcode takes more time than for horizontal and vertical orientations.
- Use "best speed" algorithm. If you know that the barcodes are of "good" quality (see Recognition rate optimization) set Algorithm property to cibBestSpeed
- Do not search for non-existent barcodes. Use your knowledge of the number of expected symbols to call FirstBarcode and NextBarcode method for the exact number of expected barcodes on the page. Trying to find non-existent barcodes take much longer than finding real barcodes.
