If particular barcodes are not recognized examine the following potential causes: 

  1. If a zone object is used, verify that the zone coordinates cover barcode image.
  2. Check the scanning brightness.  Visually examine the barcode image to see if it shows broken or merged bars, adjust the brightness and rescan.
  3. Check the scanning resolution.  If the ModuleSize for recognized barcodes is less then 3, try to increase scanning resolution.  Alternatively, if you have control over the printing of the symbol, increase the size of printed barcode.
    If no barcodes are recognized at all, set the cibNoValidation in the DiagFlags property in order to improve the odds of recognition; use the recognized barcodes only to measure the ModuleSize.
  4. Set the Algorithm property to cibBestRecognition.
  5. There could be many reasons for recognition failure. Inlite Research tech support can analyze the images and recommend solutinos that are beyond the scope of this help page. Send the images in question to Inlite Research support, or simply use the Inlite Advisor to request support.
