Create Documents Panel |
Barcode Director uses the validated barcode data and the rules in this panel to create and name the output folders and documents. The two basic steps in the process are (1)Select a Profile and (2) assign a File Name.
This panel is not available in Reports Mode.
Click on this button to open a new dialog to select and configure one of four profiles:
Note: This profile preserves the original file structure and contents without modifying it. Other profiles read and write out the individual pages of the file, and therefore modify their structure. This affects PDF files primarily and converts their pages to images.
Click on the button
to open a dialog for defining the file/folder naming rules
File Structure Options In addition to the file structure operations specified by profile, the following general options may be specified:
Cover Pages - when the cover pages are created merely for batch separation and are not intended to be part of the final document delivery, check these two boxes in order to remove them
Delete Document ID (separator) pages
Delete Folder ID (separator) pages - grayed out when there is only one barcode in use
Blank Pages - In cases of duplex scanning it may be desirable to remove the blank backside images from the final document.
Check the "Delete Blank Pages" box to remove them.
Three types of exceptions are supported:
No Document ID - this can result from two conditions.
The program fails to find the expected one or more pages with barcodes so that it could construct an output file name.
Two or more barcodes, with different values, satisfy the validation rules, consequently, the program cannot construct a unique Document ID.
Duplicate Document ID - at the time of output, the program discovers that a file already exists in the output folder with the same filename as the Document ID. This may or may not be a problem.
Invalid Characters - the barcode contains characters that cannot be used in a file name.
